Steve & Liz
run Koi Kabin with a little help from their two
sons.Below is an article from KOI CARP magazine, August 2001. "In a recent poll of regional accents, the Yorkshire accent was considered to be trustworthy and friendly. This is one reason why Leeds is called the 'call centre capital' of the UK. Ossett, minutes from Leeds and two minutes from junction 40 of the M1 is where Koi Kabin is situated and a visit to the shop will only reinforce this poll. Koi Kabin is a family run business which proves that from little acorns, oak trees grow. Steve and Liz were first introduced to Koi over 10 years ago - the ponds have grown and grown over those years but size has not been put before quality. Steve's philosophy is quality not quantity. The knowledge gained over the years was the reason for the creation of Koi Kabin as Steve and Liz wanted to pass on their experience to other Koi keepers to help promote the keeping of Koi to the masses. WHEN IT ALL STARTED It all began back in 1999 when Steve and Liz started Koi Kabin as a mail order business from home, but it was soon realised that larger premises would be needed. Koi Kabin moved to new premises in July 2000 to meet the demand of its customers, a showroom was added recently and more vats for Koi were introduced. The Koi for sale range from 3in-22in and are all of good quality. New Koi direct from Japan, arrived in April and will continue to do so throughout the year. All Koi are checked and quarantined so customers can buy with confidence. Should you require anything from Koi food to a UV, Koi Kabin can supply anything required by the Koi enthusiast and the range of dry goods on offer is second to none. If visiting the shop is difficult then there is an excellent mail order service with lines open seven days a week. SERVICE WITH A DIFFERENCE Steve and Liz pride themselves on offering new services to Koi customers, one of these is the ability to hire a pond vacuum, an excellent idea which many customers have taken advantage of without the expense of purchasing their own. All aspects of pond maintenance can also be arranged - this can include filter maintenance or clearing those out of control pond plants. Pond construction is a growing part of the business and Steve prides himself on being able to make peoples' dreams and ideas a reality - every aspect of pond construction can be left in his capable hands. All excavating, brickwork and fibreglassing poses no problem to the team at Koi Kabin and anyone considering building a pond should take a look at what Koi Kabin has in stock. Everything you need, from pond liners to hundreds of pipe fittings, can be obtained from their vast range. ON THE WEB If you have access to the internet then Koi Kabin's website is a very good way of finding out more about what's new in the shop, or you can email any questions or queries you may have. Steve sees the internet as a very important part of promoting the business but says there is no substitute for the personal touch. Steve is happy to give advice or guidance about any matter, whether it be over the phone, by fax, email, in the shop or at any of the many shows he attends throughout the season. Steve remembers the help and advice given to him in the beginning by Barry at Karobar Koi and would like to take this opportunity to thank him. Koi Carp magazine has also been a great help and Steve eagerly awaits each new copy for its stimulating and interesting articles. Also, a large thank you to Koi Kabin's growing list of loyal customers." Koi Carp magazine August 2001. |
